Say Hello to a New You with 20/20 Vision in 2024!

If you wear glasses or contact lenses to see, then you know that it’s not exactly a perfect solution. You can see but there are restraints. There are often activities that you shouldn’t take part in or things that you shouldn’t be doing. Glasses and contacts can be expensive! But for many people, the number one thing that stops them from even considering LASIK is themselves. Keep reading to learn why you should make clear vision a priority!

You’re afraid

Fear is an incredibly powerful thing. It can work in good and bad ways. In the case of LASIK eye surgery, it can hold you back from experiencing the best vision of your life!

So, why are you afraid? Surgical procedures can be scary, that’s true. But LASIK is an FDA approved procedure.

Millions of people around the world have had LASIK and love their results. In fact, at IQ Laser Vision, we have an over 99% satisfaction rate with our patients!

We are truly experts when it comes to LASIK and it shows. It’s okay to be afraid of having a procedure like LASIK. But what’s not okay is letting that fear stand in your way of experiencing things like crystal clear vision, seeing the world for what it really is, and being who you were always meant to be!

For many people, the first step to getting there is as simple as having a procedure like LASIK to open the door and see the possibilities.

You don’t think you can afford LASIK

Another thing that may stand in the way of undergoing LASIK is whether you can afford it. Here’s something that may change your mind: did you know there are financing options for LASIK?

This is a huge reason why so many people have decided to have the procedure and finally experience visual freedom for themselves! Having the option to finance LASIK means you can afford LASIK on your own terms.

IQ Laser Vision offers our patients extensive financing options so you can pay off your LASIK procedure and spend as little as $5 a day! If you can afford your cup of coffee from Starbucks every day, then you can also afford a vision correction procedure like LASIK.

Depending on the financing plan you choose, you can pay off your procedure over two years. LASIK is easy to fit into your budget and the best part is it’s permanent. There’s no better investment you can make than in yourself and the ability to see clearly.

What about the unknown?

LASIK can seem like a mythical procedure. How can you go in needing glasses and contacts and come out not needing them anymore? It’s simple if you understand how the procedure works!

LASIK is a procedure that corrects refractive errors. That means nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.

These occur if your cornea isn’t the correct shape, meaning spherical. When this happens, your vision may be blurry or distorted, which is why you need glasses or contact lenses to see.

LASIK works because it permanently corrects your refractive errors if you’re a good candidate for it. This is achieved at IQ Laser Vision in Los Angeles using our ALL Laser SOFT COMFORT TOUCH Micro-LASIK® technique.

This was pioneered by Dr. Lin and is now practiced by ophthalmologists all over the world. The use of this method results in ultra-thin cornea flaps, which means a faster recovery for our patients.

The combination of the Micro-LASIK® technique and our expertise in the procedure means there are very few unknowns when you have LASIK.

You don’t know if you’re a good candidate for the procedure

Have you thought about getting LASIK but stopped short every time before you could make it a reality? The first step is so simple!

All you need to do is find out if you’re a LASIK candidate by scheduling a LASIK consultation. You’re under no obligation to have LASIK if you have a consultation.

After all, not everyone that has a consultation can have the procedure. Most people that want LASIK can have the procedure, but not all of them.

About 10-15% of people that want to undergo LASIK will not qualify for the procedure. The good news is that even if you’re not right for LASIK, we offer plenty of other procedures!

This may include another vision correction procedure like SMILE, which is a fantastic option for patients that want visual freedom.

Wondering what factors go into LASIK candidacy? Some common factors include:

Age:

You must be at least 18 years of age or older to undergo LASIK.

Prescription stability:

You need to have a prescription that’s remained unchanged for at least a year or more before you can have LASIK.

Health:

You’re in good health and can easily recover after having LASIK and should not have any autoimmune conditions like Sjogren’s syndrome.

Eye health:

Your eyes are healthy and you don’t have any conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, or age-related macular degeneration.

Not currently pregnant or nursing:

You can’t get LASIK if you’re currently pregnant as your eyes may change due to the hormonal changes occurring. If you’re nursing, you’ll have to wait to have LASIK until you’ve stopped nursing for at least 3 months.

This will give your eyes enough time to stabilize and go back to normal.

Your corneas are thick enough:

A crucial component of LASIK involves removing corneal tissue. If your corneas are too thin, removing even a tiny amount of tissue could result in serious vision problems.

At the end of the day, you are what is probably standing in the way of your hopes and dreams. If you’re tired of wearing glasses and contacts, why not see if LASIK is right for you?

At the very least, not only are you investing in yourself, but you can save money over time. Think about it.

On average, you could be spending around $500 every year on glasses and contact lenses and all the accessories that go along with them. What if you didn’t have to spend that money on them anymore?

You could spend it on something else. What you choose to spend it on is up to you but an extra $500 in your pocket could go pretty far every year!
